Forgotten Harvest is a volunteer organization dedicated to relieving hunger and preventing nutritious food waste. All the food rescued and produced by the organization is delivered to metro Detroit families who are food-insecure and struggle to cover the cost of basic life necessities. The Detroit and Southeast Michigan Network will support Forgotten Harvest again this year by “rescuing food” at the end of the Lipari Food industry trade show. Join us this year on Wednesday, March 22, at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi to give your time to this organization. This is a great opportunity to make a huge impact on our community in a small amount of time while also burning a few calories. Join fellow CMU Tartans along with 100 or so other volunteers, to gather and pack food products and samples left over from the exhibit/vendor tables and booths at the end of the show. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age and be able to stand/move for the 2+ hour event. This is Forgotten Harvest’s largest food show rescue of the year and all volunteers will work at their own pace. We hope you will join us!
