In recognition of the monumental importance of Juneteenth (June 19) in our nation’s history, Dr. Wanda Heading-Grant, CMU Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, is convening a panel discussion to address its meaning, significance and why we should celebrate it. Award-winning columnist Tony Norman will serve as moderator. Expert panelists include CMU University Professor Joe Trotter, University of Pittsburgh Professor Laurence Glasco and Cornell University professors Margaret Washington and Edward Baptist.
